Abstract

This article considers the evolution of economic opinions on welfare’s nature and ways of its utility quantitative evaluation as an object of consumer demand. The author points out five stages in forming a theory of utility. The study reveals the difference between neoclassic and behavioristic economic theory. The researcher substantiates the necessity of development of an integration approach to research utility.
